ONE KID, ONE SKY, A UNIVERSE OF CURIOSITY
Age 12 | Citizen Scientist | Amateur Astronomer & Astrophotographer | Space & STEM Enthusiast | Aspiring Astronaut | Founder of AstroSidSpace
I'm a 12 year old citizen scientist, an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, a Space & STEM enthusiast, and an aspiring astronaut, looking to make meaningful contributions to space science and education.
My curiosity about the universe began at the age of five, when my endless questions about stars, planets, and black holes led my parents gifting me a telescope that sparked a lifelong passion for exploration and discovery.
By day, I'm a student, builder, pianist, coder, and a friend. By night, I love to explore the cosmos with my telescopes and camera, capturing celestial objects from comets and nebulas to planets and galaxies.
"I believe space should feel familiar, not far away. Through AstroSidSpace, I’m learning how to bring the stars closer, for myself and for anyone curious to look up."
AstroSidSpace is my personal journey. Today, I share glimpses of my experiences in astronomy and astrophotography on AstroSidSpace social media handles. But tomorrow? I envision an educational and insightful platform, one that makes space feel personal, exciting, and accessible to everyone, no matter where they’re starting from.
From simple stargazing to deep dives, I’m looking to build a space where learners of all ages can discover, understand, and fall in love with the cosmos, just like I did.
I may be a little shy in person, but through AstroSidSpace, I’m learning how to express, present, and connect with others who share the same spark. My dream is to grow this into a community of space lovers where we don’t just learn, but also create, collaborate, and experience space together.
Soon, I hope to launch beginner friendly video guides, space facts, and more with creative storytelling that spark curiosity in others. If I can help even one more person look up at the night sky and wonder, then my journey will always be worth it for me in more ways than one!
I’m a self taught pianist and currently pursuing formal music training. I enjoy playing music on my piano in free time. This is literally my first go-to when I'm not doing much.
One of my favorite pieces to play is the mesmerizing Interstellar soundtrack and yes, Interstellar is my all-time favorite movie.
I’ve always been fascinated by black holes, time dilation, and space travel. Watching Interstellar felt like someone had turned my dream into a story, it’s why I connect with it so deeply.
I love playing with my friends, whether it's casual fun or immersive simulations.
Some of my favorite games include:
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 : I love flying planes and simulating real-time aviation missions.
Universe Sandbox and Space Engine : These space simulation games let me explore physics, orbits, galaxies, and black holes in ways that feel almost real.
Minecraft & Roblox : These are the go-to games when I want to build, create, and play with friends.
I find gaming to be an entertainingly interactive way to explore and have fun with imagination!
I've currently started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, my goal is to work toward astronaut-level fitness. Something I got inspired to do after reading astronaut Chris Hadfield's advice.
This year, I’ve also started exploring basketball, and I’m excited to see how far I can go with it.
Though I'm very much early in these, I’m learning that discipline, focus, balance, and strength are the skills that will help me wherever my journey takes me, hopefully one day, outer space!
When I'm not doing anything else, I love expressing myself through:
Drawing and painting (One of my favorite things to do)!
Solving Rubik’s Cubes
Playing Chess
I’m fascinated by rockets, robots, and airplanes.
I explore robotics and coding through:
Arduino STEM kits.
Raspberry Pi experiments.
Building and Block Programming. I've recently started exploring AI.
My passion for aviation had led me to flight simulators, drones and soon to the real world of flying:
I’m looking forward to join the Royal Canadian Air Cadets program this fall (2025) to possibly learn some real aviation skills!
